Our graduating welders recieve either a National KNEC Certificate/ ISO 9606 Competency Certificate with a KEBS Report or a Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) License in SMAW;GMAW;GTAW


We link all our National Graduates with an Internship Opportunities to gain experience and offer a pathway to jobs in Canada for our experienced graduates.

250 welders certified

Since 2019 we have trained and certified over two hundred welders and counting across all technical welding related courses.


The Institute amongst other recognitions was awarded the prize for Training and Knowledge during the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry Awards.


We provide workplace training opportunities in Industry and our graduates are retained in accordance with their performance


Through our partners, 150 youth from all over the country have been awarded welding skills training scholarships to the Institute.

A Burundian refugee, part of a Dual learning program sponsorship by the ILO proudly showcases a truck body chassis for Isuzu model FRR that he worked on from scratch.


AWS Certified Associate Weld Inspector

Graduated in 2019 as a top student with an ISO 9606-1 Welder certificate of Competency he later trained and was recently qualified by the American Welding Society and now is a tutor/instructor in the Institute and does Inspection projects in the NDT Department


Since his graduation, he has built experience working on various construction of refinery tanks and large boilers in our partner companies and is currently hired by the County Government of Turkana to work in such projects.


An employee of Eskom Uganda, trained for a one month period to up skill from a 2G welder to a 6G welder he was awarded a medal as a result of good performance in the value output chain as a welder during the cooperate league competition
